  • About Cote Hill Blue

A blue cheese that has a wonderful balance between the rich creaminess of the milk and a peppery bite.  It matures from a slightly chalky centre to a creamy, sometimes runny texture. The natural rind contains an array of moulds that develop the flavour, finally resulting in an award winning blue brie.

Flavour Notes:

A rich creamy blue cheese, with a peppery bite. The array of moulds contained in the natural rind develops its flavour.

About Our Supplier

The Davenports have been milking cows at the foot of the Lincolnshire wolds for three generations. Today, Michael & Ross milk the cows, while Mary & Joe make the award winning cheeses.

The morning milk at Cote Hill Farm is taken direct from the cows into the cheese rooms to be hand crafted into their cheeses.  By not pasteurising the milk it allows the full complex flavour of the milk to be a part of the finished cheeses.

Additional Information

All our products come directly from our shop based in the small village of Cartmel, just outside the Lake District national park. Our shop is temperature controlled between 12-14 degrees to allow maturation of all of our cheeses.

Every single cheese on this website has been hand-picked and tasted by our in-house cheese experts to ensure that they are truly special – we hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
